Konstantin Matosevich was my personal trainer for more than a decade. From when I was 9 until I was 19, I trained with this great man. Kosta turned me from a chubby little kid to the man I am today, helping me overcome many obstacles along the way and turning my dreams into reality.
From age 9-12, Kosta taught me all the basics – how to treat my body with respect, how, what and when to eat, and the importance of hard work. Later, as a teenager, my dream was to become a professional basketball player. By training personally 3 times a week with the former Olympic athlete, I was able to apply to Israel’s top basketball team “Maccabi Tel Aviv” and to Israel’s National Youth Basketball Team.
In Israel, all men and women must join the army and serve the country for 3 years. At the age of 17, I decided that I wanted to join one of the IDF’s most elite units called, 669. At that point, Kosta changed my training program by creating dynamic, creative, and super challenging new workouts every week. Those workouts really prepared me for the military’s most intense physical and mental tests. Thanks to coach Kosta, I achieved my goal and proudly joined 669 months later.
Today, as a personal trainer myself, I proudly mimic Kosta’s training methods and tactics. I feel I have all the professional knowledge I need thanks to my own teacher. Sometimes people say my workouts are very similar to his, or even call me “little Kosta”, and I just love that nickname סמל ההבעה smile
Kosta, I could never thank you enough for everything you have done for me. I wish you all the best in Canada, and I am sure that everyone who will be privileged enough to meet you will feel as grateful as I felt and still feel today.
